Project Goals and Objectives
Catalyze evolution from Stage 6 to Stage 8. Raise water stage and water table at base flow; increase riparian vegetation and woody shrub cover; expand aquatic habitat and wetland footprint; increase water and sediment retention. Maybe someday, probably decades from now, a beaver complex (like neighboring reference streams). We can hope.
Structure Construction Elements
Sod speedbumps (native riparian sod was stacked to create speedbump structures across inset channel, raising stage and inducing out-of-channel flow). Other important PBR treatments included livestock management and planting 2000 willow saplings.
