Fish habitat complexity and refuge pools that are critical during years of drought and low to no summer flow events to sustain healthy and diverse populations of aquatic species. Increase groundwater recharge and floodplain connection to help support year-round instream flows and riparian vegetation survival and recruitment. Promote beaver activity by developing a foundation of structures for beavers to maintain and build upon, becoming a self-sufficient restoration management strategy.
The project is more PALs focused, particularly in areas of low complexity and lacking of pool habitat. Beavers have been very active in the project reach. BDAs may be targeted for areas adjacent to flood plains.
