The goal of this project was to increase flow diversity to promote increased scour and deposition, and to promote overbank flow, bank erosion, and widening at high flows using PALS. Using BDAs, the goal was to pond water for habitat for fish, and cover for beaver, and to aggrade the channel and connect to the floodplain.
Structures were built using willow, sagebrush, juniper, and pine harvested on site within the floodplain or from nearby hillslopes. BDAs were built throughout the project site, PALS were built in the middle section, and a single headcut structure was built in the lower section.
