San Antonio Creek Beaver Habitat
Project Goals and Objectives
Create beaver habitat, increase wetland acreage, create habitat for other species such as endangered NM Meadow Jumping Mouse and Rio Grande Cutthroat Trout, store water in headwater stream system, improve water quality (temperature and turbidity), increase drought, flooding and fire resiliency.
Structure Construction Elements
6 large elk/cattle exclosures constructed, thousands of willows planted, 45 beaver dam analogues and 120 large woody debris structures built.
