Polvadera Creek Beaver Habitat
Project Goals and Objectives
Reduce sediment transport rates, improve pool habitat for aquatic species including Rio Grande Cutthroat Trout, improve floodplain connectivity, improve water quality, establish native willow.
Structure Construction Elements
20 beaver dam analogs, 41 post-assisted log structures, and 120 Zeedyk type erosion control structures (Zuni bowls, One rock dams, rock rundowns and log mattresses) built, 12,000 willow poles planted.
