Project Goals and Objectives

Encourage beavers to adopt BDAs. Plant willows to help expand willow flycatcher habitat. Connect floodplain. Carbon storage.

Structure Construction Elements

90/120 BDAs and PALS were implemented in fall 2023. The next phase of implementation will be fall 2024. Some of the meadow areas have a tightly "woven" single post line design, where other areas received PALS to encourage complexity and scour (helping recruit sediment for structures below). Many of the BDAs were constructed on old beaver dams, making their locations ideal.
