Landscape restoration experimentation, education, research & demonstration. We chose to work on smaller, better regulated drainages with significant hydrogeological features.
These structures were made with local materials and a work crew with chainsaws. The rock detention structures worked the best. The cottonwood carcasses functioned poorly unless weighed down. Where juniper is thick, the structures were quick & easy to make and they functioned very well. We received approx. 20" of rain in May & June, lots of feedback in short period of time.
