Project Goals and Objectives

The goals of this project were to implement restoration actions using beaver dam analogs (BDAs) and post-assisted log structures (PALS) to improve baseflows and groundwater storage, floodplain connectivity, and critical habitat for ESA-listed steelhead.

Structure Construction Elements

Design included 22 BDAs and 6 debris jams. Postless BDAs were constructed from locally sourced riparian vegetation (false indigo) and debris jams were constructed primarily from pine sourced from the forest.
