Project Goals and Objectives

In 2023, 42 structures were implemented to promote aggradation, increase floodplain connectivity, and raise the water table elevation. Overarching goals were to increase habitat for plant and animal species, while increasing the meadows overall resiliency to droughts, fire and floods. In 2024, we returned to the project area to maintained and enhance structures to further the above goals.

Structure Construction Elements

A combination of BDA, PALS and Hybrid structures were used throughout the meadow. In areas where digging was not possible, hybrid structures were used to promote similar results as BDAs.
