In 2023, 21 structures were implemented in Troy meadow to increase native sedge and meadow species, increase floodplain connectivity and also create habitat for beavers and trout. In 2024, we returned to Troy meadow and preformed maintenance and enhanced structures to further the above objectives.
Structures consisted mostly of BDAs but also include PALS for eroding banks and creating lateral flow paths. Hybrid structures were also implemented in sensitive areas, these structures consisted of densely packed leafy materials, compressed with large heavy wood.
