Project Goals and Objectives
The goal of this project is to provide habitat for steelhead, floodplain connection and hyporheic connections for water storage. Additionally, in these smaller streams we hope that by slowing water velocities, increasing channel roughness, floodplain connection, and groundwater recharge there will be a potential future increase in summer base flows.
Structure Construction Elements
PALs were installed to simulate benefits of natural wood loading to promote hydraulic and geomorphic diversity. The project also uses posts and wood to stabilize some eroding banks to protect landowners fields.
