The long-term, overarching goal of the Chihuahueños Creek Headwaters Restoration Project is to restore natural geomorphic, hydrologic, and biotic processes throughout the system and to increase resilience, ecosystem services, and improve aquatic, riparian, and floodplain habitats while simultaneously providing water and forage for adaptive management grazing strategies.
A combination of BDA's, PALS and strategic felling were used to achieve the above goals. Materials were gathered on site, mostly consisting of conifers, down materials, and sediment harvest within select areas.
