Create over summer and over winter rearing habitat for Coho Salmon, demonstrate value of BDAs to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and scientifically investigate effects of BDAs on adult and juvenile Coho Salmon passage over constructed structures. Initial 2 structures in 2014, additional 2 structures below downstream BDA to backwater initial structure to prevent under scour. Several rounds of adaptive management to extent structure laterally to manage lateral flanking. 4 additional BDAs added in 2021 to increase habitat volume. Beavers occupied the reach shortly after construction and have taken over the upstream BDA.
Postline with willow wicker weave. Imported sediment (natural alluvium too sandy to reduce structure permeability), native vegetation and straw, rock.
